A Quality Manager, or Quality Assurance Manager, is in charge of supervising the production process to make sure that all products meet consistent standards. Their duties include developing and implementing quality control tests, inspecting products at various stages, writing reports documenting production issues / responding to quality claimsperforming tests for the quality of manufacturing processes in order to ensure compliance with predetermined criteria, as well as ensuring that final products are safe for sale or distribution.

Specifically, this position will:

 

  • Direct/Implement the Quality Management System
  • Manage the QA/QC staff
  • Provide customer support and communication on any quality concerns
  • Lead root cause investigations into any deviations
  • Track Quality KPIs and develop continuous improvement plans
  • Monitor plant inventory status and shelf life concerns
  • Be an active member of the Plant's Safety Committee
  • Support New Product Introductions by developing testing plans
  • Ensure control charts and process capability data is up to date and take action as needed
  • Perform SAP inventory movements as needed

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 

Education & Skills

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Chemical preferred)
  • 3-5 years functioning as a Quality Engineer
  • Strong ability/knowledge in statistics and SPC
  • Trained in Root Cause Analysis and investigations
  • Experience in quality systems such as ISO-9001, RC14001, etc.
  • Demonstrated team player

 

Experience:

  • Manufacturing knowledge and prior experience as a Quality Manager and/or in roles of progressive responsibility within a Quality Team or Department
  • Experience working in an industrial setting, especially those handling hazardous materials
  • Six Sigma Certification
  • Experience with SAP and Minitab
  • Some management experience

 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
