POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Chemical Operator safely and efficiently makes our high performance products utilizing an automated control system to control temperature, flow, pressure and other variables on a reactor system.  The operator accurately records inventory, process variables, and batch data manually on batch sheets and transfers this to SAP. 

 

THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING.

  • Works closely with other operators, the shift supervisor, material handlers and mechanics to meet production goals
  • Utilization of both manual and automated control systems (Delta V) along with analytical results to monitor and adjust the process as needed to produce a consistent, in specification product
  • Identify, troubleshoot and diagnose process and equipment issues
  • Perform light maintenance and prepare equipment for others to safely perform maintenance
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations within the limits of training and qualifications
  • Position requires rotating shifts in a 24/7 operation
  • Ability to respond to call out and work overtime as needed
  • Safe and environmentally responsible operation of all aspects of a batch chemical process
  • This is a rotating shift position in a 24/7 operation
  • Assist in writing and reviewing JSA, SOP’s and other Work Instructions
  • Participates in Safety and Environmental initiatives that will contribute to compliance of State/Federal including Title V Air Permitting, RCRA, PSM, RMP and OSHA
  • Maintain plant housekeeping in a “tour ready” condition at all times
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective function of the department and the plant.
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds safely.
  • Safely operate an industrial lift truck (sit down and stand up)
  • Uses SAP to confirm production and help manage inventory.

 

 

IN ORDER TO BE QUALIFIED FOR THIS ROLE, YOU MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING:

  • Minimum 3 years chemical plant manufacturing experience is required.
  • SAP experience is preferred.
  • Must be capable of evacuating the manufacturing process areas in a timely manner should an emergency situation arise.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with forklift operation
  • Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position including climbing stairs, ladders, lift 55 pounds, connect hoses, operate manual valves, wear FRC uniforms and full face respirator (clean-shaven)

  • Experience with PSM Regulated Processes are Preferred
