Job Title: Reliability Mechanic


Purpose of Position:  Performs the installation, maintenance, servicing, repairing, and rebuilding of all plant equipment including buildings and grounds.


Job Duties:

  • Effectively troubleshoot electrical, instrument and mechanical problems in the field.
  • Understand, execute and follow all life critical procedures in the execution of maintenance activities.
  • Repairs, installs and services all plant equipment.
  • Inspects and repairs all buildings and grounds including underground services.
  • Executes all tasks necessary as assigned to support plant operations
  • Tests all work for proper operation prior to turnover to production.
  • Provides feedback to supervision pertaining to out of calibration instrumentation and any abnormal equipment observations.
  • Assists with PLC troubleshooting as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized shop and clean design practices during day to day work activities.
  • Follow planning and scheduling protocols for the completion and documentation of work order status.
  • Supports BBS process by performing observations 
  • Supports Loss Control policy, AIMS, ISO 9001 and OSHAS 18001 management systems.


Maintains proficiencies in the following areas:

  • General mechanical
  • Piping threading and fitting
  • Rotating equipment rebuilding and alignment (mechanical seals, bearings and couplings, etc.).
  • Electrical power, conduit and electrical wiring installation (hazardous and non-hazardous)
  • General instrumentation electronic and pneumatic.
  • General troubleshooting.
  • Reading and understanding PIDs, electrical prints and equipment drawings.
  • May be required to obtain additional skills such as welding and instrumentation calibration.


Qualifications / experience required:


  • HS Diploma and 5+ years exp. in manufacturing with focus in pipefitting/welding.(Multi-Craft Mechanic)
  • Journeymen Pipefitter / Welder
  • Basic skills in MS Office; knowledge of SAP preferred
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9000, and OSHA PSM procedures preferred
  • Must be able to climb ladders and work at significant heights
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds; both to carry and to lift overhead.
  • Must be able to wear a respirator.
  • Must be able to enter confined spaces.
