Arkema's Birdsboro, PA plant is seeking a self-motivated and experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee all maintenance activities in the plant as well as all capital projects. 

The maintenance manager works closely with other managers to meet business and customer demands and inventory requirements.  Operates within budget based upon forecasted volume and established cost standards.  Meets customer expectations through continual improvement in maintenance and reliability practices.  Develops personnel to exceed expectations and prepare for career advancement.  The Maintenance/Engineering Manager is accountable for a maintenance budget of +/-$2 MM as well as the plant capital budget of +/-$2 MM annually.

Responsibilities

•    Ensure plant maintenance and engineering activities comply with all environmental and safety regulations and
Requirements.
•    Actively participate and ensure involvement in behavioral safety process through example, practice and encouragement.
•    Prepare, implement, and manage loss control systems.  Analyze accidents, make improvements in systems to
minimize occurrence of accidents and coordinate the department's systems with the plant-wide systems, in cooperation with the HES Manager.
•    Organize departmental and plant capital resources, supervise spending and maintain accountability for
performance to the forecast and budget.
•    Work closely with the Production/Logistics Manager to coordinate manufacturing initiatives to continuously improve the overall performance in the areas of HES, Quality, Productivity and Cost Effectiveness.
•    Administer the overall capital programs and supervise the execution of the individual projects.
•    Directly or indirectly provide oversight for contractors.
•    Direct reliability efforts to improve asset utilization and operational sustainability .
•    Work closely with other department managers and in a spirit of cooperation to promote teamwork within and
between departments.
•    Prepare, maintain, and implement Mechanical Integrity and 5 year capital plan
•    Maintains Plant RSO and water operator certifications to allow plant to maintain regulatory requirements .
•    Responsible for maintaining all SAP maintenance module development and KPI reporting requirements .
•    Responsible to lead and manage the safe and cost effective execution of the plant annual maintenance shutdown including any and all planning needs.
•    Works closely with MRP controller to ensure all maintenance and capital project contractors have all necessary safety and training documentation in place prior to coming on site .
•    Manage all aspects of the plant security program including plant telephone system administration.    

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years manufacturing/plant experience
  • B.S. in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Ability to lead others and foster development
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Organization and planning skills
  • Self-motivated 

Previous experience in polymerization process and union relations preferred
