Arkema’s Beaumont Plant is seeking a knowledgeable Staff Reliability Engineer to support rotating equipment performance, strengthen predictive maintenance programs, and contribute to long‑term equipment reliability across the site.  This role plays a key part in improving safety, equipment availability, and operational continuity within a dynamic chemical manufacturing environment.

As a technical resource on‑site, you will collaborate closely with Reliability Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and vendor partners to diagnose equipment issues, implement corrective actions, and enhance the health of critical rotating assets.  This position requires strong analytical skills, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to support structured problem‑solving and continuous improvement efforts.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain the site’s lubrication program, including monthly oil sampling routes, equipment lubrication standards, storage practices, labeling, and personnel training.
  • Monitor rotating equipment health through vibration analysis, lubrication data, inspections, and contractor reports; communicate findings and recommend corrective actions to improve reliability.
  • Maintain and update key documentation including repair procedures, PM programs, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and the Master Rotating Equipment List.
  • Assist with major reliability initiatives including VIS updates, turnaround planning, equipment rebuild oversight, and SAP program enhancements.
  • Provide technical field support for repairs such as compressor rebuilds, pump repairs, exchanger work, and piping equipment troubleshooting.
  • Document failure modes, as‑found conditions, repair actions, and historical equipment data in SAP to support long‑term reliability strategy.
  • Support structured problem‑solving and reliability improvement tools including RCA, FMEA, 5 Why’s, and KPI trend analysis.
  • Manage predictive maintenance work orders, track progress, and help drive timely completion of proactive equipment repairs.
  • Coordinate with vendors to obtain quotes, initiate requisitions, schedule services, and witness critical equipment rebuilds as needed.
  • Assist in emergent maintenance needs and provide technical input during abnormal equipment issues or unplanned events.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Technology.
  • Certification in Vibration Cat I, Lubrication MLT I, or CMRP/T a plus.
  • Experience working with rotating equipment in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration analysis, oil analysis, and lubrication systems.
  • Proficiency with SAP or similar CMMS platforms for work orders, documentation, and purchasing.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, analytical abilities, and communication skills.
