Position reports directly to the Thio NA Process Technology Manager and provides technical assistance for Thio NA operations. Position requires direct interaction with Thio NA site Leadership Team and staff to exchange information and ideas directly related to the success of the Thiochemicals Group. The individual must have a sound knowledge of technical aspects of the Thio NA sites and of the business situation as related to the operation of the process. Individual must be able to communicate on multiple levels of organization and manage multiple tasks required by the Thiochemicals Group.



Production Data : responsible for ensuring optimal process enhancements of the following products at the Thio North America sites: Methyl Mercaptan, Ethyl Mercaptan, Dimethyl Sulfide, Dimethyl Disulfide, Hydrogen Sulfide, Acrolein, MMP, Linear/heavy Mercaptans, and Carbon Disulfide
People Data: Responsible for the training of Operations personnel and other staff in technical issues.
Financial/Process Data: Responsible for implementing raw material consumption improvement and OAU improvement projects for Thio NA sites
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): drives energy optimizations and GHG reduction projects of Thio NA sites
Time allocation for each Thio NA site: 50% Beaumont, 30% Houston, and 20% Pineville



Safety/Environmental Goal: (25%)
This role supports full compliance of all Safety/Environmental related regulatory requirements including OSHA, PSM, RMP and Company Policies and programs.
Operation and Technical Goal: (60%)
• Maximize operational efficiency and continuously identify and evaluate opportunities for improvement.
• Maintain, review and update key process knowledge for the area assigned to.
• Support Thio NA initiatives for new product development, process technology projects, and debottlenecking efforts.
• Provide assistance to operations during plant turnarounds, emergency operations, and any other time technical assistance is required.
Professional Development Goal: (10%)
• Develop skills required to support Thiochemicals Group through professional development of technical skills, interpersonal relationship skills, management skills, and community relations.
• Ensure that specific goals are developed that correspond with Plant objectives and initiatives.
HSEQ responsibilities include but are not restricted to those outlined in Leadership expectations such as reporting any incident in a timely manner. (5%)



• Supports Thio NA sites HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
• Participates in HES activities provided by Thio NA site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.)
• Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents



• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a chemical plant setting required



Ability to understand and troubleshoot chemical processing to achieve production goals
• Good organizational and planning skills
• Good analytical and problem solving skills
• Good communication and presentation skills to convey interpretations of process data and recommendations
for improvement
