Arkema Inc. is actively recruiting for a Maintenance I/E Planner to support our Beaumont facility.  The I/E Planner holds responsibility for coordinating maintenance work to ensure proactive planning of all work activities in a safe and environmentally compliant manner, in adherence to established codes and procedures. This role collaborates with production and maintenance personnel, contractors, and others to develop high-quality job plans for operators and craftsmen. Reporting to the Maintenance Scheduling & Warehouse Superintendent, the role does not directly manage any personnel. Additionally, this position serves as a backup to the Maintenance Mechanic Planner.

 

The Beaumont Plant is located in Southeast Texas about 30 miles inland from the Gulf of Mexico and is about one hour drive east of Houston.  Our facility is responsible for the production of methyl mercaptan, ethyl mercaptan, dimethyl sulfide (DMS) and methylmercaptoproprionaldehyde (MMP).

 

This position is responsible for, but not limited to:

 

  • Develop comprehensive planned maintenance packages for corrective and preventive maintenance of plant equipment.
  • Obtain price quotes, create requisitions, receive purchase orders for services or goods, schedule external services and materials, and process invoices.
  • Participate in coordinating and scheduling upcoming work and integrate with turnaround planning as necessary to plan associated job packages.
  • Coordinate activities of service contractors for planned work.
  • Assist Foremen with unplanned work as needed.
  • Track work hours and other relevant details for future work package improvement.
  • Ensure accuracy and validity of all entries in SAP for work packages.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the PM program.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all SAP functions, including creating, generating, and printing work order/planning reports.
  • Evaluate compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and take appropriate action for non-conformances.
  • Establish a list of annual equipment inspections such as hoists, boilers, backflow preventers, etc. and ensure scheduled completion.
  • Generate purchase requisitions for materials and services needed for planned work orders.
  • Communicate with Scheduler when prepared and planned jobs are ready to be scheduled.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Pipe Designers for piping and valve replacements.
  • Responsible for creating Task Lists in CMM, BOM's for equipment, and creating Functional Locations and Equipment Numbers.
  • Accountable for work packages, schedules, and specific projects.
  • Act as a liaison between management and the hourly workforce, as well as within management and the workforce.

 

To be considered for this role, the following is required:

 

  • High School diploma required, with an Associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Maintenance I/E Planner or 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with 5 of those years specifically at the Arkema Beaumont Plant.
  • Firm knowledge of the maintenance process and process equipment is essential.
  • Proven expertise in working with SAP, including the Work Order, Inventory, and Purchasing systems.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills necessary for effective interfacing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to articulate business priorities, expectations, provide clear direction, delegate responsibility, and objectively manage situations, including plant emergency situations.
