Position Summary

We are seeking a Lab Technician to support day-to-day laboratory operations at our Beaumont site. This role is responsible for performing routine and non-routine laboratory testing, maintaining analytical equipment, supporting chemists, and ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, industrial laboratory environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory testing including:
    • pH, COD, cloud point, appearance, titrations
    • TOC water testing
    • IC analysis
    • GC analysis for sulfur compounds and other process and wastewater samples
  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments (e.g., pH meters, IC, GC)
  • Prepare reagents, standards, and samples as required
  • Properly coordinate, store, and dispose of samples and laboratory waste in compliance with environmental regulations
  • Support chemists with method development and validation
  • Run instrument standards and report deviations per ISO and internal quality systems
  • Accurately record data in Excel spreadsheets and LIMS
  • Generate Certificates of Analysis (COAs) using SAP
  • Review and update standard laboratory procedures as needed
  • Actively participate in safety, health, and environmental programs and report all incidents or near misses

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts

Preferred:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field
  • 3+ years of laboratory experience (industrial or manufacturing environment preferred)
  • Experience with GC, IC, TOC, and wet chemistry techniques
  • Familiarity with LIMS and SAP systems
