Material Handler II - Chemical at Bostik's Ashland, Ohio facility.  

Perform  material handler duties at the Bostik's Ashland, Ohio facility.  This position is a day shift position with frequent overtime.     

The responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Must follow all Safety Rules, Regulations, Operating Procedures, Corporate/Plant Policies and Laws at all times.
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds safely.
  • Safely operate an industrial lift truck (sit down and stand up)
  • Load/Unload of bulk raw materials
  • Load/Unload trucks with forklift
  • Complete receiving/shipping paperwork. 
  • Ability to be trained to move/bacl trailers on-site with Yard Truck.
  • Use of distributed control systems to monitor process
  • Labeling and filling containers with product
  • Take samples of powder and liquids to ensure product quality, stage empty containers, maintain satisfactory housekeeping standards, prepare equipment for maintenance
  • Safely handling industrial chemicals using established safe plant procedures and processes
  • Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including chemical suit, respirator, face shield, hard hat, steel toed boots, etc.
  • Accurately completing shop floor paperwork in both written and electronic format
  • Use of computerized MRP system.
  • Work 1st shift
  • Work overtime as needed
  • Participate in company safety meetings and training
  • Other responsibilities as directed by supervision

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

  • Must have a high school Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be safety conscious, reliable, and have a strong work ethic.
  • Hands-on manufacturing experience desired; chemical manufacturing experience or warehouse experienced is preferred.
  • Be willing to work 1st shift and frequent overtime
  • Must be computer literate and have good math skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Pass a pre-employment physical, drug test and background check
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

  • History of strong attendance and performance.
  • Ability to coach and be coached.
  • Ability to be safe, innovative, flexible, self-starting, honest and open.
  • Experience with computers.
  • Ability to work as a member of an integrated team.
