To apply for job offers on the Arkema Recruiting System (the “Jobs Portal”), we ask you to register on our Jobs Portal, and to upload your application. Please find below our information notice on the protection of personal information of the Jobs Portal of Arkema.


Arkema offers an online system dedicated to recruitment. The use of the Jobs Portal involves the processing of your Personal Information (as defined below). Arkema will pay special attention to the protection of your Personal Information while you use the Jobs Portal.


This information notice (“Notice”) will provide you with information on our Personal Information processing activities with respect to certain Personal Information about you when you access and use the Arkema Jobs Portal to:


Create an account in the Jobs Portal inter alia used to store your application data;


Apply for a specific job offering of an entity belonging to the Arkema Group, while the relevant entity is indicated within a specific job offering, and/or


Other activities in relation to the use of Jobs Portal and maintenance of your account.


The Notice considers the rights and obligations set forth in the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, “GDPR”) , Personal Information Protection Law of the People’s Republic China, Cybersecurity Law of the People’s Republic China and other personal information protection related laws and regulations (collectively, “Applicable Laws”).




1.Arkema (China) Investment Co., Ltd. with its registered office at Unit 904, Beijing Sun Palace Building, No 12A TaiYangGong Middle road, Chaoyang District, Beijing P. R. China, is responsible for ensuring that Personal Information is processed in compliance with the Applicable Laws.


2.We use the following definitions in this Notices:


Arkema”or “we” means Arkema (China) Investment Co., Ltd.

阿科玛”或 “我们”均泛指阿科玛(中国)投资有限公司。

Personal Information” refers to all kinds of information related to identified or identifiable natural persons recorded by electronic or other means, excluding anonymized information. In addition to factual information, it includes any expression of opinion about an individual and any indication of the intentions of Arkema or any other person in respect of an individual.


Personal Information includes Sensitive Personal Information, which refers to Personal Information that is likely to result in damage to the personal dignity of any natural person or damage to his or her personal or property safety once disclosed or illegally used, including such information as biometric identification, religious belief, specific identity, medical health, financial account and whereabouts and tracks, as well as the personal information of minors under the age of 14.


II.Processing of Your Personal Information




We will process your Personal Information when you access and use the Jobs Portal. You will provide us with your Personal Information when creating an account, setting up a profile and/or applying for a job on the Jobs Portal. We may receive your Personal Information from you or from authorized third parties (e.g., recruitment agencies which you authorized to submit your Personal Information to us.)


In addition to Personal Information processed via the Jobs Portal, we may also process your Personal Information from third parties to the extent permitted or required by Applicable Laws, for purposes connected with processing your application on the Jobs Portal.


We process your Personal Information in order to enable you to create an account, set up a profile and/or apply for a job on the Jobs Portal,as well as to inform you about job application status, and any other purposes in relation to the use of Jobs Portal.


2.Which Personal Information are processed


While creating your account and/or applying to a job offer, we may process the following Personal Information (Sensitive Personal Information is marked in bold):


- Your login information: username and password;


- Your general personal information, such as first name, last name, e-mail address, phone number, address, city, zip code, country;


- The information provided on your resume, such as professional experience, photo, education background, professional certifications, language skills;


- The professional preferences that you provide us with, via the Jobs Portal (that is, the types of jobs that you are interested in and geographic mobility);


- Any other personal information (including sensitive information, such as possible disabilities) that you decide to enter voluntarily on your profile, or include in your resume without being obliged to;


- Your IP address and browsing routes on the website.


You can edit or delete your profile through your account at any time.


Furthermore, each time you use your account, we record and store date and time of your login in order to allow you to verify when you were last logged into your account and to enable us to notify you about a pending deletion of your account due to long-time inactivity (See Article 8 of Notice).


3.What are the purposes of processing your Personal Information?


We will process your Personal Information for the following purposes:


- To create an account and your profile in the database, for technical support or for any other useful purpose, such as identifying opportunities that align with your interests and preferences;


- To submit your application to different affiliates of the Arkema group, according to your instructions, via the Jobs Portal;


- To be visible in Arkema's candidate database. Please note that if you want to use this feature, you must first enable it. Only then will the people in charge of recruiting within Arkema see your profile and offer you job opportunities in the event of a current or future vacancy. You will be able to deactivate this feature again, at any time, via the Jobs Portal;


- To create anonymized statistics (so that we can evaluate, for example, the number of candidates who have applied for a particular offer, without analyzing the applications accurately);


- In accordance with the Applicable Laws, to establish, enforce or defend against filing a complaint and to fulfill legal obligations (such as accounting, regulatory and administrative requirements), to comply with requests from courts or regulatory bodies, or, where necessary to investigate, prevent or take action regarding illegal activities, in cases of suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the safety of others or violation of Arkema's policies or conditions.


4.Who are the recipients of Your Personal Information?


For the purposes mentioned above, the following recipients and categories of recipients will have access to your Personal Information:


- Human Resources and managing functions within Arkema group to administer applications and candidate information at a group wide level;


- To agents, service providers and third-party consultants (for example to carry out computer maintenance or provide support in connection with human resources);


- To governmental authorities, courts and regulators, when necessary and to comply with Applicable Laws;


- To any other party, in case of reorganization, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment, transfer, or any other provision related to the entirety or parts of our business, our assets, or our actions.


Your Personal Information will be shared, transferred or exported strictly pursuant to Applicable Laws. We will not disclose your Personal Information to any third parties who are not authorized to process it.


5.On what legal basis do we process your Personal Information?


In connection with the use of the Jobs Portal, we will process your Personal Information on the basis of your consent to this Notice:


- To create and store your profile, in accordance with this Notice;


- To make your profile available to Arkema's companies, at your request, via the Jobs Portal;


- To process your applications in connection with the information you provide in the Jobs Portal and your interests and preferences.


If necessary, we may also process your Personal Information when necessary, without your consent:


 To comply with a statutory duty or obligation to which we are subject to;


To process the Personal Information disclosed by you or other Personal Information that has been legally disclosed within a reasonable scope in accordance with Applicable Laws;


Other cases that do not require your consent as stipulated in the Applicable Laws;



6.Where will your Personal Information be exported?


Since Arkema belongs to the Arkema Group, who owns affiliates around the world and provides services through global resources and servers.  That means, after your consent, your Personal Information may be transferred outside the country you are located and processed worldwide, e.g., both inside and outside the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA), People’s Republic of China (PRC) and United States (US) by Arkema. Please note that all countries, even in the EU and the EEA have different laws regarding the protection of Personal Information. When your Personal Information is transferred from your country to another country, the laws and regulations that protect your Personal Information in the country to which your information is transferred to may be different from your country's. Arkema will take necessary measures to fulfill its legal obligations relating to the outbound transfer of Personal information under Applicable Laws.


7.How do we protect your Personal Information?


Arkema implements necessary and appropriate technical and organizational security measures designed to protect your Personal Information against accidental or unlawful destruction, accidental loss or alteration, unauthorized disclosure or access. All our employees and partners are bound by confidentiality and can only process your Personal Information on a "need to know" basis principle.


In the event of any security incident regarding your Personal Information, we will in a timely manner inform you about the basic conditions and possible influence of security incident, response measures that have been taken or to be taken by us, risk mitigation suggestions, corrective measures for you, etc., by email, telephone, push notification, etc. When it is difficult to notify every user individually, we will issue an announcement properly and effectively. At the same time, if necessary, we will take the initiative to report the handling of such security incidents in accordance with regulatory requirements.


8.How long will your Personal Information be retained


You can manage your account or the Personal Information you have provided us with at any time by:


Deleting your entire account


Deleting all or selected information in your profile


Withdrawing an application


All three options will lead to the deletion of some or all your Personal Information, except to the extend we are required by law to keep the respective data.


We are committed to keeping your Personal Information as long as it is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, and to fulfill our legal obligations.


We shall delete your account if you have not logged into your account for more than two years. In such case, you will receive a separate notification informing you about the upcoming deletion in order to give you the opportunity to prevent the deletion of your profile.


Your Personal Information will not be kept in a form that allows you to be identified for any longer than is reasonably considered necessary by Arkema for achieving the purposes for which it was processed or as it is established in the Applicable Laws related to data retention periods or as permitted by Applicable Laws.


9.What are your rights?


Under the conditions set out under Applicable Laws, you have the following rights:


Right of access:


You have the right to obtain from us confirmation as to whether or not Personal Information concerning you is being processed, and, where that is the case, to request access to the Personal Information. The access information includes – inter alia – the purposes of the processing, the categories of Personal Information concerned, and the recipients or categories of recipients to whom the Personal Information have been or will be disclosed.


Right to rectification: 


You have the right to obtain from us the rectification of inaccurate Personal Information concerning you. Depending on the purposes of the processing, you have the right to have incomplete Personal Information completed, including by means of providing a supplementary statement.


Right to erasure: 


You have the right to ask us to erase your Personal Information. Please note that there may be circumstances where you ask us to erase your Personal Information but we are legally entitled to retain it.


Right to withdraw your consent


You have the right to withdraw your consent to the processing of your Personal Information at any time. Please note, however, that we may still be entitled to process your Personal Information if we have another legitimate reason for doing so. For example, we may need to retain Personal Information to comply with a legal obligation.


Right to cancel your account: 


You have the right to cancel your account and you may cancel it at any time. After your account is cancelled, we will stop providing any product and service to you and delete your Personal Information according to your request, unless we are legally entitled to retain it.


Right to obtain a copy of your Personal Information:


In some circumstances, you have the right to receive all or part of your Personal Information in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and/or request that we transmit those data to a third party where this is technically feasible. Please note that this right only applies to Personal Information which you have provided directly to Arkema.


Right to Constraint information system automatic decision:


In some functions, we may make decisions based solely on non-manual automatic decision making mechanisms such as information systems and algorithms. If these decisions significantly harm your legal rights, you have the right to ask us for an explanation or request us not to make decisions based solely on non-manual automatic decision making mechanisms, and we will provide appropriate remedies.


Please note that the aforementioned rights might be limited under the Applicable laws.


To be safe, you may need to provide a written request or otherwise prove your identity. We may ask you to verify your identity before processing your request. In principle, we do not charge a fee for your reasonable request, but we will charge a certain amount of fee for the repeated requests that exceed the reasonable limit. For those who are unreasonably repetitive, need excessive technical means (for example, need to develop new systems or fundamentally change existing practices), pose risks to the legal rights of others, or are very impractical (for example, involving information stored on backup tapes), we may refuse them.


In the following situations, we will not be able to comply with your requests, in accordance with the requirements of laws and regulations:
